The Mama Instincts Podcast

May 8, 2019

Meditation is not something you can only do alone, in a quiet room, with the right incense and when everything has aligned for you. Meditation means to look within, to be aware of yourself, to quiet down your mind and be in stillness, live in the true present moment...and we can accomplish this while being with our kids.

Meditation can happen while you're on-the-go, while you're cooking or cleaning, running, going out for a walk or playing at home with your kids. And learning how to quiet down your mind when life is full on is one of the best skills you can master. It will allow you to stay calm when your children are upset, it will allow you to stop an argument before you say things you might regret, it will allow you to choose happiness over conflict and it will make you feel better about yourself and about your life because you will be in tune with yourself.

On this episode Mama Instincts talks about:

  • Reframing meditation - what meditation looks like when you're a parent
  • Why quieting down your mind is such an important skill to master
  • Simple ways to meditate when you're by yourself
  • How to quiet your mind while you're active doing stuff, like working or taking care of your children

Quieting down your mind help you be a more patience and calm parent and also help you become a less explosive parent. Plus, this skill will not only benefit you as a parent but also in your life. When you learn how to quiet down your mind you become more in tune with yourself, and this where the magic of life starts to happen.
